Elvira Konecny, PhD, was born in Vienna where she studied German Philosophy, Theater and History at the Vienna University. Since her childhood was a member of the ‘singers Society’ of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde. She participated in a ‘countless’ number of Concerts in Austria and worldwide, among others under Herbert von Karajan in Epidaurous (1965), New York (1976) and Tokyo (1979) as well as in Athens later on. She participated in various Opera performances e.g. in ‘Fidelio’ and ‘Moses and Aron’ with the Vienna National Opera and in ‘Don Carlos’ in the Salzburg celebrations under the auspices of Herbert von Karajan. Appeared also as Solist in church choirs and has been a member of the Austrian Radio-Television choir. Encouraged by Polychronis Enepekidis, history professor at the Vienna University and with her professor’s mutual agreement, she performed her Thesis in the above University on ‘The Dumba family and its importance to Vienna and Austria’.
