PUBLISH E-BOOKS
AKAKIA handles the
full works of publishing and distributing of electronic books for
English-speaking and Greek-speaking Authors the world over,
following a very simple 2-step process that aims at enabling every
Author to publish, fast and effectively, without discrimination or
time-consuming procedures and above all, at a minimum cost.
Step 1
The Author, having carefully read and fully agreed to the Terms of
Use & Agreement of AKAKIA, fills out the electronic Publishing
Application form, clicks on the "Electronic Book" radio button, and
uploads the required text files in .txt, .doc, .docx, or .rtf format
or .zip compressed files’ format, if the Author chooses to send us
the already existing cover, by clicking on the button «Send»
(submit), in the form.
Step 2a
In the second step, the Author makes a deposit of the sum of £150
GBP via the online payment gateway Paypal. The above sum covers the
following costs:
• The ISBNs registration for the electronic formats
• The set-up process
• Establishing electronic formats (.epub, .pdf and .mobi)
Step 2b
If the Author, when filling up the electronic Publishing Application
form, has selected Copyright Protection in the Intellectual Property
Protection Agency CopyrightHouse.co.uk, then the Author must deposit the
additional charge of the service of £90 GBP. Alternatively, the
Author may independently seek to register his or her Copyright, and
add the Document Copyright Registration Number when filling the
Publishing Application form. Also, if the Author selects Cover
Creation by AKAKIA, in the electronic Publishing Application form,
then the Author will have to deposit an additional amount of £100
British Pounds.
As soon as AKAKIA receives the completed electronic Publishing
Application form, the required files for publication and the
required deposit, AKAKIA will initiate the publication process. This
process includes issuing a new and unique ISBN for the book under
electronic edition by Nielsen ISBN Agency, UK, the complete
professional standard set-up, transferring the necessary electronic
files in .epub, .pdf and .mobi formats and uploading the complete
electronic book file for sale.
Each book will be sold at AKAKIA Publications' website in a
compressed file .zip format, which will make the book available for
download in three different formats: in .mobi format for eBook
readers such as the Amazon Kindle, in a .pdf format for PCs and Pads
such as the iPad or Android tablets and should the the buyer require
a hard copy of the book printed, in an .epub format for the most of
eBook readers, such as Sony Reader, Kobo, Binatone, BeBook, Nook and
Displex.
All English-language eBooks published by AKAKIA will be available
for sale on major sales channels of electronic books, such as
Amazon, iTunes, Waterstones, WHSmith, Foyles, Tesco and all
Greek-language eBooks on e-Bookshop.gr.
Pricing of each book is determined by the Author and is specified
during completion of the electronic Publishing Application form. As
shown in detail in the Terms of Use & Agreement of AKAKIA, the
Author will be entitled to 70% of the net profits of the sale of
each of his/her book sold. AKAKIA sets a minimum of £3 GBP as the
selling price for each electronic book. AKAKIA recommends to all
cooperating Authors to open and maintain a Paypal Account, so that
their profits can be automatically deposited.
The Author is solely responsible for advertising his or her eBooks,
in Britain or in other countries. Advertising of each of the
electronic books (eBooks), may also be undertaken by AKAKIA, if it
so choosen, but advertising of eBooks does not lie within AKAKIA
contract obligations to cooperating Authors.
If an Author wishes to publish a book which consists of two or more
volumes, or sequels, the Author should follow the same process for
each separate volume. The electronic Publishing Application form and
related costs specified above are related to only one book.
Please note, that AKAKIA also undertakes translations from English
into Greek and from Greek into English, always following a written
agreement with the Author concerning the translation’s cost. An
Author, who is interested in translating his book, should contact
AKAKIA via email.
