PUBLISH PRINTED BOOKS
AKAKIA handles the
full works of publishing printed books for English speaking and
Greek speaking authors from all over the world, and makes them
available for purchase through Amazon, using the specialized service
of Create Space. The printed publication is supplemented as an added
service to the electronic edition and not as is.
With the minute additional cost of £150 GBP, the book will be
available for sale through Amazon, without the obligation of the
author to buy a specified number of copies that would have cost a
lot of money. In reality, every time someone orders the book from
Amazon (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.fr, amazon.de, amazon.it
etc.) the book is printed the same day by Amazon with the process of
Print On Demand and is sent to the buyer. And yet the Author may
order as many copies as he/she wants for himself at a very low cost.
Thus the author saves both time and money, since he is not required
to pay in advance for a huge number of books, but the cost of
production is deducted from what is sold from time to time. Also, as
it happens with the Electronic Book, the Author earns 70% of the net
profit from each book, having, of course, previously deducted the
cost of production and the Amazon profit. That is, if for example, a
book of 60-100 pages with a coloured cover (e.g.

has been published and is being sold at £9-£10 GBP, deducting the
cost of production and the 30% of the AKAKIA Publications, the
Author’s profit comes to £2.50-£3.00. In other words, not only he
pays £150.00 to have his book published in a printed form, but he
also has a profit every time a copy of his book is being sold. The
selling price of the printed books will be set by the AKAKIA
Publications, since it depends on the production and printing costs.
The books will be in the form of soft cover paperback, like the
majority of the books on the market; in white inner pages and their
dimensions may be suggested by the author. The usual dimensions of
the books printed by AKAKIA are 14cm x 21cm.
For AKAKIA to proceed to a printed publication, the author must take
two simple steps, exactly as in the case of an electronic
publication.
Step 1
The Author, having carefully studied the AKAKIA’S Terms of Usage &
Agreement, he fills the electronic Publishing Application form,
clicks on the «Electronic and Printed Book» at the end of the form,
uploads the required text files, in .txt, .doc, .docx, or .rtf or in
the form of a compressed .zip files in case the Author wishes to
also send us the already existing cover and sends the Form to us by
clicking «submit».
Step 2a
Immediately afterwards, the author is automatically transferred to
the second step, that is the paying of the basic £150.00 GBP plus
the additional cost of £150.00 GBP for the printed publication,
trough the paying gateway Paypal, in which sums are included:
• The registration of the ISBNs for the electronic formats and for
the Printed Book
• The setting up process
• The establishment of electronic formats (.epub, .pdf and .mobi)
• The assignment of sale of the Electronic Book to large selling
distribution networks (Amazon,
iTunes, Waterstones, WHSmith, Foyles, e-Bookshop.gr)
• The assignment of sale the Printed Publication of the book from
Amazon
• To send 6 copies to the British National Library in compliance
with the Law
• To send a copy of the Book to the Author
• The printing of a copy for the archives of AKAKIA
Step 2b
If the Author, when filling up the Publishing Application form, has
selected Copyright Protection in the Intellectual Property
Protection Agency CopyrightHouse.co.uk, then the Author must deposit the
additional charge of the service of £90 GBP. Alternatively, the
Author may independently seek to register his or her Copyright, and
add the Document Copyright Registration Number when filling the
Publishing Application form. Also, if the Author selects Cover
Creation by AKAKIA, in the electronic Publishing Application form,
then the Author will have to deposit an additional amount of £100
British Pounds.
As soon as AKAKIA receives the completed Publishing Application
form, the required files for publication and the required deposit,
AKAKIA will initiate the publication process. This process includes
issuing a new and unique ISBN for the book by Nielsen ISBN Agency,
UK, the complete professional standard set-up, transferring the
necessary electronic files in .epub, .pdf and .mobi formats and
uploading the complete book file for sale.
At the same time, the creation process for the necessary files for
the printed version of the book and its distribution through Amazon
commences.
Each book will be sold at AKAKIA Publications' website in a
compressed file .zip format, which will make the book available for
download in three different formats: in .mobi format for eBook
readers such as the Amazon Kindle, in a .pdf format for PCs and Pads
such as the iPad or Android tablets and should the the buyer require
a hard copy of the book printed, in an .epub format for the most of
eBook readers, such as Sony Reader, Kobo, Binatone, BeBook, Nook and
Displex.
All English-language eBooks published by AKAKIA will be available
for sale on major sales channels of electronic books, such as
Amazon, iTunes, Waterstones, WHSmith, Foyles, Tesco and all
Greek-language eBooks on e-Bookshop.gr.
In the case where the Author wishes to order a number of copies of
his books at a low price can contact AKAKIA via email for further
information. AKAKIA does not store or keeps stock for any of the
printed books, of any Author. AKAKIA does not distribute hard copy
books through its website or any other bookstores, but only through
Amazon. Advertising of each book may also be undertaken by AKAKIA,
if it so agreed with the Author, but advertising of printed books
does not lie within AKAKIA contract obligations to cooperating
Authors.
If an Author wishes to publish a book which consists of two or more
volumes, or sequels, the Author should follow the same process for
each separate volume. The electronic Publishing Application form and
related costs specified above are related to only one book.
Please note, that AKAKIA also undertakes translations from English
into Greek and from Greek into English, always following a written
agreement with the Author concerning the translation’s cost. An
Author, who is interested in translating his book, should contact
AKAKIA via email.
