DO I HAVE TO FILL UP THE FORM TWICE FOR BOTH AN
ELECTRONIC AND A PRINTED EDITION OF A BOOK?
Fortunately not! To have the same book issued in both an electronic
and printed forms, you only have to fill in the online
Publishing Application once, select
"Online and Printed Publication" and deposit the basic sum
of £150 plus the sum of £150 for the printed publication, and the charges for any optional additional services. While
requiring a different ISBN, the electronic and the printed edition
do not require different set-up, and thus setup is done only once.
Thus, AKAKIA issues the second ISBN free of charge and proceeds with
the next steps for both editions. The publication process is very
simple and detailed steps for each edition can be found in "Publish
eBooks" and "Publish
Printed Books" respectively.
IF I HAVE A BOOK IN THE TWO VOLUMES OR IN
TWO LANGUAGES, DO I HAVE TO PAY TWICE?
Unfortunately, the cost for a book divided in two volumes or of a
book issued in a second language, is double. This is because a
second volume is considered a different book, let alone a book in a
different language. Thus, each book receives its own ISBN and the
set of volumes receive an additional second joint ISBN called SET
ISBN, so that when sold together (as in an offer) the joint ISBN and
not the volume-specific ISBN is automatically selected. Thus, for
each additional volume or any translation of a book, a separate
set-up is required, and so a separate
Publishing Application form should
be completed on line followed by a separate deposit of any required amount.
I HAVE WRITTEN A BOOK IN GREEK / ENGLISH.
HOW CAN I TRANSLATE IT?
AKAKIA can undertake the translation from English into Greek and
from Greek into English, always following a written agreement via
email to the author regarding the cost of translation. An author
interested in translating his or her work, must inform AKAKIA via
email accordingly.
WHAT FILES SHOULD I SEND IN COMPLETING THE
PUBLISHING APPLICATION FORM?
If on completing the
Publishing Application form you
select the "Cover Creation by AKAKIA" option for your book, then all
you have to do is upload only the file with your text in .txt, .doc,
.docx, or .rtf format. But if you already have a book cover saved in
a .jpg or .png format, then you should upload both text and image
files together in a compressed file format .zip.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE MY BOOK
PUBLISHED?
With respect to both Electronic and Printed Books, once AKAKIA receives the
electronic files and the required deposit it will need 5 to 15
working days to complete the set-up procedures, to issue the ISBN,
register the title with the National Library of England and the
creation of the appropriate files for sale.
CAN I SELL MY eBOOKS THROUGH AKAKIA?
Of course you can! Once AKAKIA prepares appropriate files for the
electronic edition of the book, your book will automatically and

AKAKIA sets as a minimum selling price the sum of £3 British pounds
for each book. The selling price of the printed books will be set by
the AKAKIA Publications, since it depends on the production and
printing costs.
WHAT WOULD BE THE PROFITS FROM MY BOOK AND
HOW WILL I RECEIVE THEM?
AKAKIA will deposit 70% of only the net profit from the sale of
electronic and printed books in British Pounds. In other words, the commission
of the relevant service providers (Paypal, Bank Account etc) and /
or the respective online retailer that manages the sale and the
production online (ie.
Amazon) will be deducted, including any withdrawal charges from
AKAKIA’s Paypal Account to a bank or other Account if the author
does not have own Paypal Account. AKAKIA recommends to all authors
intending to submit their works for publication to AKAKIA, to create
a Paypal Account, so that AKAKIA can easily deposit their profits.
This will avoid the process of issuing cheques or other forms of
money transfer which are time consuming and burden the author with
additional costs. Author’s profits are calculated twice a year
(January to June and July to December), whereby at the end of each
period, profits will be deposited in the author’s account.
